Home Port Charts, located in Stuart, FL and
Cape May, NJ began 30 years ago by Captain Bill Shuda,
Sr., born October 14, 1921. He started the small business
after numerous requests from fellow charter boat Captains
for his hand made Loran Wreck and Reef Charts.
In 1955, Capt. Bill Sr. helped establish the Cape May
Artificial Reef. He is also one of the founders and
a proprietary member of the Cape May Marlin and Tuna
Club, a member of the Cape May Party Boat Association,
and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association.
Also in 1995, his son Capt. Bill Shuda, Jr. began making
GPS charts for the Florida waters using his accumulated
data logged after many years as a Captain fishing the
East Coast Tournament Circuit, Sailfish Alley, and the
Bahamas. He added bottom structure and local fishing
grounds along with suggestions from local charter boat
Captains, anglers, divers, and everyday boaters to provide
Home Port Charts with information not found on any other
charts.
Capt. Bill Shuda, Jr. is an IGFA Certified Observer,
past tournament director, proprietary member of the
Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club, a member of the West
Palm Fishing Club, the Stuart Sailfish Club, the Martin
County Anglers Club, the Ft. Pierce Sportfishing Club,
the Jupiter Inlet Offshore Fishing Club, a licenced
Captain and Committee Boat Reporter for the Mid-Atlantic
$500,000 Billfish Tournament, the South Jersey Shark
Tournament, and the South Jersey White Marlin Open.
Today, Captain Bill, Sr. and Captain Bill, Jr. along
with his wife Marjie, produce the most up to date, user
friendly and GPS accurate Charts available from New
York to Florida and the Bahamas.
Home Port Charts are sold in most marinas, marine
supply stores and tackle shops. |
